Reading a Purse Sheet Correctly
The single number in a headline purse report almost always understates total fighter income, and it can understate it by a wide margin for a champion with PPV points or a prospect with a big sponsorship deal. A more accurate read requires stacking four separate categories: the disclosed show and win money, any performance bonus, outfitting incentive pay, and, for a small number of fighters, PPV or revenue-share income that commissions do not require to be disclosed at all.
