Why Personal Sponsorships Still Matter
Outfitting exclusivity limits what fighters can wear inside the arena, but it does not touch endorsement income earned outside fight week. Champions and contenders with any social media following can still sign deals with supplement brands, apparel companies outside the Venum exclusivity window, or regional sponsors in their home market, and none of that income shows up on an athletic commission's purse sheet. For a fighter with a large personal following, endorsement income can end up exceeding the disclosed fight purse entirely, which is one more reason a single commission number rarely captures what a UFC roster spot is actually worth.
