La Masia houses more than 300 young players at any given time, most of them boarding away from their families, and the entire operation runs on Barcelona's Cruyff-influenced doctrine of positional play, a possession-based, spatially disciplined style that every age group from the youngest academy side up to the first team is trained to execute identically.
